My really dumb move
The other day I made a flyer for an upcoming rock and roll show here in Tampa… Looked good (just a quicky job) and the person I made it with made a few hundred copies. Later that night I get a voicemail from another buddy, “Dude nice flyer… where’s the date and time?”
You have to know the guy to realize why I thought he was just being an asshole. So I check the PSD…. He was right! Yes ladies and gentlemen, I made an event flyer and neglected to place either the date or the time. Dumb dumb dumb.
Good one. Hahaha.
Oh that really gave me a good chuckle this morning, thanks!
But you know what, I’ve done stupider things. I once created a multimedia CDROM designed for the print & design industry. It was made on a PC, using Director, and was therefore only compatible with PC’s (whereas a large proportion of the people in that industry were using Macs)
I’ve since moved over to Mac, and now make everything cross-platform, but boy was my face red when I realised my mistake.
When my wife and I were preparing to get married we did our own wedding invitations. Since both our names start with ‘M’ we had taken to referring to ourselves as ‘M&M’. When we did the return labels inside the invitation we used this instead of say our full names. As my wife was using this opportunity to drop her first name and officially convert to her middle name there was a lot of confusion in the remoter parts of her family tree as to who was actually sending the invitation. Once distant aunt even sent a reply stating that she wasn’t sure who we were.
